The editors of Drown Unbound welcome back all returning members of our community and bid a special welcome to the department’s new graduate students. After more than forty years of mentoring and inspiring students at Lehigh, Professor Betsy Fifer has decided the time has come for a change. She will be retiring at the end of the spring semester. She was one of the first female faculty members hired at Lehigh after it became coeducational in 1971, and she has worked to make the campus more a democratic place ever since.
