The Buzzfeed Post

Advice

Here at Drown Unbound, we’re feeling the end-of-semester crunch quite strongly, and you probably are too. So we thought we’d have a little fun with it. For one post only, we’re becoming Buzzfeed. I’ve got a list of gifs here. Mareesa has a quote about keeping positive in this tough time. Laura’s got a Harry Potter thing and a Hamilton thing. Brian had a séance and heard some advice from Langston Hughes.

The Gif List: What we’re going through

Marry Poppins knows how to write a thesis (but if you want real advice, check out Jo’s recent post)

That feeling when you’re trying to balance writing and reading and posting and teaching (and living)

When you reread what you wrote last night

Kel knows the pain of reading some dense theory that you absolutely need for your paper

And finally, this baby gives us some good advice for what to do if you’re feeling out of it

Up next is Mareesa’s quote. “It’s a bad quote, no one owned it,” but maybe it will still give you some inspiration.

There’s no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs.

Next, Laura’s got a motivational song from Hamilton.

And finally, Brian has provided us a link to a Langston Hughes poem about going on even if you don’t know where you’re going: Mother to Son.

We will now return you to your regularly scheduled thoughtful posts about important things happening around campus and in the world of English grad students. We’ll have a new post about work-life balance later this week, if you want actual advice.
